The Road to Wittenberg

It's done at last - the book about the Summers family line starting with Thomas and Rosanna Summers, who lived in Kent Co, Delaware, in the first half of the 1700s, and ending with the John William and Verne (Crabtree) Summers family, who lived in Wittenberg, Missouri, in the first half of the 1900s. Actually, it doesn't really end with John and Verne, since the book continues a little way with their children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. With a few GG grandchildren thrown in for good measure.

A book on the Crabtrees, Lambs, and other families connected to Verne Crabtree, wife of John William Summers, is under way, but it may be quite a while before it is finished since I am returning to the Tapscotts of Fauquier County for my next book.

I'm pleased to say again "The Summers Book C'est fini."

But, since the Summers are more German than French, perhaps I should say "Es ist vollbracht." Actually, the Summers are English, but as we all know, the Anglo-Saxon founders of Britain were Germanic.  Besides, "Vollbracht" is a more dramatic word than "Finished."

At last!
